Following the complaint filed on behalf of Matin Manani, the case went through several rounds of investigation. Despite court orders and follow-up inquiries, the supervising authorities declared they were unable to identify the assailant. With no suspect confirmed, the case was officially archived.
Instead of pursuing the attacker, the court has moved the process toward compensation (diya). According to Article 85 of the Criminal Procedure Code, the matter was referred to the criminal court in Sari. Based on the forensic medical report, the court ruled that the government’s Beit al-Mal (state treasury) must pay compensation to Matin for the injuries he suffered, including the permanent damage to his eye.
However, the Ministry of Justice’s Fund for Compensation of Damages (known as the “Fund for Inability to Pay”) has appealed the ruling and objected to paying the ordered compensation. A new hearing has been scheduled, meaning Matin’s struggle for accountability and recognition of his injuries continues.
For the case to proceed and for efforts to be made to find the person responsible for blinding Matin, new evidence such as video recordings would be required. پس از شکایت مطرحشده به وکالت از متین منانی، پرونده چندین مرحله تحقیق و بررسی را پشت سر گذاشت. با وجود صدور دستورات قضایی و پیگیریهای انجامشده، مرجع نظارتی اعلام کرد که قادر به شناسایی ضارب نیست. در نتیجه، پرونده از جهت شناسایی عامل حمله مختومه و بایگانی شد
با این حال، روند رسیدگی به سمت پرداخت دیه هدایت شد. بر اساس ماده ۸۵ قانون آیین دادرسی کیفری و با استناد به نظریه پزشکی قانونی، دادگاه کیفری دو ساری حکم به پرداخت دیه از سوی بیتالمال صادر کرد. این حکم، آسیبها و صدمات واردشده به متین از جمله آسیب دائمی به چشم او را تأیید میکند
اما صندوق جبران خسارات وزارت دادگستری (معروف به «صندوق تأمین خسارتهای بدنی») به این رأی اعتراض کرده و از پرداخت دیه خودداری نموده است. به همین دلیل جلسهٔ جدیدی برای بررسی این اعتراض تعیین شده و مسیر حقوقی متین همچنان ادامه دارد
